These beautiful baskets are very useful for storage of craft projects, throws, toys and all manner of things. They are at least 30cms deep and at least 40cms in diameter.
The handles are bound with cow hide to make them more comfortable to hold.
They are made by hand by a group of weavers in Bolgatanga, Northern Ghana. The grasses used to weave them grow wild and are gathered, prepared and naturally dyed by members of the group, ready to be woven into a unique, biodegradable piece. The women deal with their finances themselves, so are treated fairly.
The basket will be supplied squashed (as it arrived from Ghana). They are easy to reshape following the instructions, which will be included.
