Description
These items were made by a new supplier in Kathmandu: Local Women’s Handicrafts. It was an absolute pleasure to visit their workshops on a sunny day in February; although I have to admit I was in tears a few times! The way the workshops are run and the women making the goods are looked after is a real testament to the vision of the founder, a young woman in her 20s.
The mats are made from cotton yarn woven on a large loom by hand. They come in four different colourways and measure 42cms by 30cms.
They wash well at 30 degrees and don’t fade.
Hand made in Nepal in a fair trade registered workshop.
